Nawabapur Govt High School is one of the oldest schools in Dhaka. The school is located in the Kaptan Bazar area of Old Dhaka. The school was established in 1935 under the name of Shri Priyanath Pal, a zamindar and educationist from Bikrampur.
At that time the name of this school was Priyanath High School. Later, when the school came under government control in 1951, the name was changed to Nawabpur Government High School.
